Penang Will Consider Views Of Building Owners Who Decline Heritage Status
PENANG, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- The views of owners who do not want their buildings to be gazetted under the National Heritage Act would be considered, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said Friday.
He said that before making a decision on a heritage building, the state government would listen to its owner's views.
Lim was speaking to reporters after annoucing the appointment of Maimunah Mohd Sharif as general manager of the World Heritage Office.
In a related matter, the chief minister urged the federal government to speed up delivery of the RM25 million allocation as promised, to run heritage conservation activities in the state.
