ROMPIN, Oct 31 (Bernama) -- Malaysian Ambassador to the United States (US), Datuk Seri Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis will present his credentials to US President Barack Obama on Wednesday.
He was informed of the date for the meeting yesterday and will leave for the US tomorrow.
"I have informed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman on the date," he told reporters after handing over house keys to settlers at the Keratong Indah Felda land scheme, near here on Saturday.
Also present were the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Datuk Ahmad Maslan and State Assemblyman for Bukit Ibam, Datuk Mohd Safri Abd Aziz.
Jamaluddin said that at the meeting to hand over his credentials, he would convey several messages from the Prime Minister to Obama.
Among other things, the ambassador-designate is expected to discuss the Prime Minister's impending official visit to the United States.
"The White House has earlier agreed to receive the Prime Minister's visit to the US but the actual date has not been decided," he said.
He said the meeting might be held at the end of the year or early next year.
