Hearing Of Datuk Wahid Md Don's Corruption Case Postponed To Dec 2

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- The hearing of a corruption case involving former Immigration director-general Datuk Wahid Md Don was postponed again Tuesday.

Sessions Court judge Rosbiahanin Ariffin postponed the hearing to Dec 2 after being informed that defence counsel Datuk V. Sithambaram could not attend today's hearing because he was on sick leave.

The case was initially fixed for hearing yesterday, but postponed to today following a request by Sithambaram, who was in court, because he was not feeling well.

Wahid, 56, is alleged to have received RM60,000 from businessman Datuk Low Chang Hian to speed up the approval of visas for 4,337 Bangladeshi workers at his house at Jalan Lembah Ledang, Jalan Duta, at about 10.15 on July 10, 2007.

Deputy public prosecutor Nik Azrin Zairin Nik Abdullah prosecuted.
