PENANG, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- A massive manhunt is underway after three men, one of them armed with a M16 rifle, robbed a security van and escaped with RM200,000 in Gelugor, here, Thursday.
Penang police chief Datuk Ayub Yaakob said so far police had arrested two security guards aged 20 and 45 years to facilitate investigations.
Police also took statements from several workers of the security guard company and members of the public who witnessed the 9am robbery.
"We are also trying to establish the identity of the three men," he said.
The robbers stormed the van, which was park at the back portion of the security firm to load money intended for distribution to various banks, and handcuffed one of the security guards before fleeing with bags containing the money.
One of them also took a revolver belonged to the handcuffed guard.
