PUTRAJAYA, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- Special oration technique classes should be implemented at primary schools nationwide to produce skilled orators, the prime minister's wife said Friday.
Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor said this could be carried out with cooperation of the education ministry, the Malaysia Children Hope Foundation and corporate sponsors to polish the children's talent.
"Synergy and cooperation involving all parties will help produce children with not only oratory skills, but leadership qualities and confidence, as well," she said at the launch of the Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Cup Malaysian Children's Oration Competition here.
Rosmah said the aim of the competition was to create more orators and leaders of the future, in line with the foundation's vision.
I call upon the participants to take after the prime minister's charisma, credibility, leadership and calmness, as an example," she said.
The competition saw Nurul Anis Amra of the Sekolah Kebangsaan Bayan Lepas, Penang, win the Bahasa Melayu category while Saeshan Pillay of the Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Megah, Petaling Jaya emerge tops in the English category.
They each took home a personal computer, RM1,000, trophy and certificate.
