Warisan Treasure Hunt To Melaka Attracts 200 Participants

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- More than 200 participants, including those from the media and the Ministry of Information Communication and Culture, joined a host of hunters in their quest to be the best in the Warisan Treasure Hunt from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka on Saturday.

Warisan Commissioner Datin Paduka Prof Emeritus Zuraina Majid said the Treasure Hunt was the first programme organised by the National Heritage Department, as a means of fostering close relationship with the media.

"I hope such programmes will stimulate interest of national heritage among the media and the public. It will also create awareness of the rich heritage in the country."

"Heritage is not just about buildings and monuments but more than that and also includes the environment and natural habitat," said Zuraina.

She added that Melaka was chosen as the destination because it is recognised as a World Heritage destination.

The hunt was flagged off at Komples Kraf Kuala Lumpur in Jalan Conlay with 55 cars, including a number of cars from Bernama.
