US Secretary Of State In Sri Lanka For Official Visit

COLOMBO, May 2 (Bernama) -- US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Colombo on Saturday for a two-day visit to express support to the Sri Lankan government's efforts to boost democracy and seek reconciliation with Tamils.

Kerry, the first US secretary of state to visit the country in a decade, was received at Colombo International Airport by Sri Lankan counterpart Mangala Samaraweera, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.

The US official will meet President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and leaders of main Tamil party TNA and civil society representatives.....
