KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 (Bernama) -- Malindo Air is enhancing international connectivity at its secondary airports by introducing new services from Langkawi to Phuket from March 26, as well as from Johor Bahru to Guangzhou from April 2.

In a statement, the airline said an ATR600-72 aircraft would be deployed for the flights from Langkawi to Phuket every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday where seats would be sold at a promotional fare from RM89 one way.

Likewise, the Johor Bahru-Guangzhou flights are offered at a promotional fare of one way RM259 for Economy Class and from RM699 for Business Class, utilising a narrow-body Boeing 737-800 aircraft every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Malindo Air chief executive officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the Johor Bahru-Guangzhou route would complement the airline's network and open more options to passengers when planning their trips.

“In our continuous effort to promote Langkawi, we are hoping the connection between Langkawi and Phuket will attract tourists from Phuket to also visit Langkawi. Banking on both efforts, we are anticipating growth in tourist and passenger arrivals into Malaysia,” he added.
