RHB TARGETS AT LEAST 10,000 SMES FOR ITS E-SOLUTIONS PLATFORM

KUALA LUMPUR, May 23 (Bernama) -- RHB Banking Group expects at least 10,000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will be using its SME e-Solutions platform by 2020. 

Group managing director Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli said the enhanced RHB e-Solutions is one of the components of the RHB SME ecosystem, providing SME customers with value-added features on a single platform that includes seamless integration of banking activities.

"With the enterprise system being too complex and costly, RHB has developed a connected banking ecosystem that simplifies cash flow and financial management for our SME customers," he told reporters after the launch of the SME connected banking ecosystem here today. 

Khairussaleh said currently, there are 90,000 SMEs within the bank’s ecosystem. 

The RHB SME e-Solutions offers SMEs complete interoperability to achieve greater business efficiency through RHB’s first collaboration with Financio, a business solutions partner providing cloud-based accounting software which eliminates the need to navigate multiple systems. 

Over the next 12 months, RHB will introduce more business-friendly features on SME e-Solutions to enable customers to make direct payment through FPX and DuitNow as well as expanding tie-ups with new business solutions partners to include point-of-sale solutions, e-wallet operators and payroll providers. 

Meanwhile, Khairussaleh said the group aims to disburse close to RM10 billion in SME financing this year, in line with its target of granting RM31 billion to SMEs by 2021.  

“It will be more than last year. I think the good news for RHB is that we have been getting more applications so far this year compared to last year. That is a good sign for us,” he added.
