DNEX PARTNERS PIJ HOLDINGS TO DEVELOP HALAL CERTIFICATION BLOCKCHAIN SYSTEM

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- Dagang NeXchange Bhd's (DNeX) wholly-owned subsidiary,  Dagang Net Technologies Sdn Bhd, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Perbadanan Islam Johor Holdings Sdn Bhd (PIJ Holdings) to leverage information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure in halal supply chain.

In a statement here, it said through this partnership, Dagang Net and PIJ Holdings would work together in the development of Johor Halal Certification Blockchain System, which includes embedding blockchain technology for application and verification of halal and marriage certificates.

In addition, the partnership would also look into the development and implementation of the Digital Halal Hub and e-Commerce Halal platform that operate in a highly data-driven ecosystem, said DNeX.

“We are honoured to be working together with PIJ Holdings in adopting disruptive technologies such as blockchain to be the main driver of growth for halal supply chain in Johor and businesses in the halal segment,” said DNeX executive deputy chairman, Datuk Samsul Husin, who is also executive chairman of Dagang Net.

Meanwhile, PIJ Holdings managing director Muhammad Fuad Radzuan said the company has the responsibility to empower the socio-economy of the Muslim community and assist it in discovering the potential value of digital economy.

“We need to unlock the potential value of digital economy, and subsequently achieve our agenda, which is to transform the state to be aligned with the digital economy development and Fourth Industrial Revolution,” he said.
