AQINA FARM TO TAP INTO MIDDLE EAST MARKET

PETALING JAYA, Aug 20 — Aqina Farm aims to establish a strong presence in Singapore while exploring other export markets such as the Middle East for its processed chicken meat products. 

Group executive director Wesley Tan said the expansion plan was expected to kick off by the first half of next year after the company’s processing plant in Pekan Nanas, Johor, is operational by end-2019 with a daily capacity of 64,000 chickens.

”Currently, Aqina Farm is the leading producer of organic kampung chicken in Malaysia and exports to Singapore.

“We strongly believe that our products can meet the demand of our customers, not only in Malaysia and Singapore, but also other countries that we are exploring to export to,” he told reporters after the launch of “Ayam Nanas” chicken brand here today.

Tan said Aqina was targeting to produce 100,000 Ayam Nanas chickens per week with a revenue of RM1.5 million in the next 12 months.

“We are also working with local farmers who have export certification certified with the Singapore Food Agency to enable us to export this product to the republic, probably by the end of this year or early next year,” he added.

Aqina chicken farm produces three main products, namely red label for kampung chicken which is known as red chicken in the poultry market, black label (black meat and skin) and white label (pineapple chicken).

The Ayam Nanas brand, a white label product, is poised to be an innovative production system whereby MD2 pineapple enzyme is added into the chicken feed, hence enabling Aqina to enhance the quality of commercially raised broiler chickens.
