BSN LAUNCHES CREDIT CARD FOR CIVIL SERVANTS
PUTRAJAYA, Sept 12 -- Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ismail Bakar tonight launched the ‘G-Card Visa’, a credit card issued by Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) specifically for civil servants.
A collaborative effort between BSN and the Malaysian Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (MAKSAK), the initiative features banking charges of 8.88 per cent per year, the lowest compared to charges of other credit cards in the market which are as high as 18 per cent per year.
Ismail, who conducted the launch at the MAKSAK awards night held at Dewan Puspanitapuri here, said both BSN and MAKSAK signed an agreement today in connection with the collaboration.
Ismail, who is also MAKSAK chair, expressed the hope that the credit card would be used prudently by all civil servants.
He added that it was his belief that since its inception in 1956, MAKSAK sportsmen should set an example for other civil servants to aspire towards.
The awards ceremony tonight saw Muhammad Zulkifli Abd Razak and S. Komalam Shally crowned respectively as MAKSAK Sportsman and Sportswoman for 2018 - Muhammad Zulkifli was skipper of the sepak takraw team which clinched a gold medal and a silver medal at the Asian Games in Jakarta, while Komalam took the silver and bronze for the 200m and 100m respectively at the Singapore Open.
