‘BRIGHT SMILES, BRIGHT FUTURES’ REACHES TO ALMOST 4 MILLION CHILDREN

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- Colgate-Palmolive Malaysia (Colgate) ‘Bright Smiles, Bright Futures’ school program has reached out to almost four million children in Malaysia since 2010.

Vice President and General Manager of Colgate-Palmolive Marketing Sdn Bhd, Corrado Giaquinto said, the programme also provided over one billion children globallyoral health education and dental screenings.

He said this in a statement in a conjunction with ‘Brighter Future with Zero Cavities’ campaign, together with The Alliance for a Cavity-Free Future (ACFF).

He added, with worrying statistics revealing that 7 out of 10 Malaysian children suffer from dental caries, Colgate seeks to empower children and families to take charge of their oral habits through our products and educational efforts.

“That is why we have collaborated with ACFF to boost the importance of cavity protection under the goal of a ‘Brighter Future with Zero Cavities’, as we believe everyone deserve a future to smile about,” he said.

Colgate has also announced its new and improved Colgate Maximum Cavity Protection toothpaste with Amino Power.

Marketing Director of Colgate-Palmolive, Amanda Klemm said, the new Colgate consists of three ingredients that help combat caries and cavities effectively, namely Arginine, Fluoride and Calcium.

“Arginine which provides nutrition for caries-fighting bacteria to make them stronger, while weakening the bad bacteria to fight their harmful activity and shifts the bacterial composition to a healthier community; Fluoride, that prevents mineral loss and keeps teeth strong; and Calcium, that naturally replenishes an essential mineral found in teeth,” she said.
