KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- The Human Rights Day celebration tomorrow at Padang Timur, Petaling Jaya to commemorate the International Human Rights Day 2018 will be postponed to a later date.

Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) chairman Tan Sri Razali Ismail said the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) had informed the commission and the Prime Minister’s Office without divulging details that there would be serious risks arising out of tomorrow’s events that borders on national security.

“SUHAKAM is disappointed that a government that is committed to human rights would seem to be influenced by tactics of pressure and extremism that has resulted in the need to postpone the celebration planned a few months ago.
