KUALA LUMPUR, May 14 (Bernama) – The National Entrepreneur Group Economic Fund (TEKUN Nasional) took 73 asnaf children and orphans from Rumah Anak Yatim Peribadi Mulia on a Hari Raya shopping trip to Mydin mall in USJ 1, near here, today through its Kasih Ramadan programme.
Its chairman, Datuk Seri Mohamad Suparadi Md Noor said the programme provided TEKUN Nasional the opportunity to share its good fortune with orphaned and poor children so that they could enjoy a festive atmosphere.
“It’s a happy and touching occasion at the same time to see the children’s happy faces while they were choosing the Raya clothes for themselves.
“Through this corporate social responsibility activity, TEKUN Nasional contributes RM150 for each of these children,” he told Bernama.
Also accompanying the children shopping for their Raya wear were TEKUN Nasional chief executive officer, Datuk Adam Abd Ghani and its top management, as well as TEKUN Nasional PUSPANITA chairman, Datin Seri Siti Noor Asikin Muhammad.
The children were then feted at a breaking-of-fast at a hotel nearby where each also received ‘duit raya’.
