KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 (Bernama) -- The National Archery Association of Malaysia (NAAM) will send 16 athletes to the Philippines SEA Games in November and will be participating in all 10 events contested, said its honorary secretary Datuk Abdul Hamid Hasan.
The events at the Games offered 10 gold medals, five each in the compound and recurve events.
"The selection of athletes will be based on their current performance at international and local championships and we will make the selection based on their points in the tournament. If there is a medal in the tournament, it will be added to their qualifying points," he told reporters after a Working Committee Meeting for archery here today.
He said the final list of national archers who will lead the country's challenge in the Philippines will be known in August.
In the 2017 edition in Kuala Lumpur, the national archery squad grabbed three gold medals in the compound and two golds through recurve events.
