UTP, the University of Adelaide seals MoU to further develop research projects

KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 (Bernama) — Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) today sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Adelaide to collaborate in activities on academic and cultural interchanges.
The five-year agreement will pave the way for both parties to work in several areas including academic staff and student exchange, seminars, conferences, research projects and other projects for both institutions’ mutual benefit.
UTP Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohamed Ibrahim Abdul Mutalib inked the MoU for the university while the University of Adelaide was represented by its Vice-Chancellor and President Prof Peter Rathjen.
The second signatories for the MoU were UTP chief strategy officer Ir Dr Aidid Chee Tahir and the University of Adelaide’s Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) Prof Nancy Cromar.
The signing was witnessed by Petronas president and chief executive officer Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin.
Earlier, Mohamed Ibrahim in his speech said the MoU reflects UTP and the University of Adelaide’s joint commitment to increasing collaboration on research projects particularly in the areas of petroleum geosciences.
“Through this partnership, we hope to establish a livelier climate that offers new opportunities for our students and staff to be exposed to an internationalised educational experience,” he said.
