Brands close to Malaysian hearts win Reader's Digest Platinum and Gold Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 (Bernama) -- Some 53 brands that are close to Malaysian hearts have emerged as the Platinum and Gold Award winners at the Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Awards 2019 as voted by Malaysian consumers last night.

Reader’s Digest, one of the world’s most recognised and valued family magazines, has been organising the annual event for the past 21 years to acknowledge brands that embody the qualities of integrity, honesty and transparency.

The 53 brand winners were announced from diverse sectors such as food and beverages, personal care products, healthcare operators, household electronics, financial institutions and property developers.

Reader’s Digest editor-in-chief Louise Waterson said the magazine acknowledged the sustained effort involved for these organisations to build a brand that consumers can trust.

Other than securing and maintaining a brand’s trustworthiness, these retail and service companies understand the power of social media these days in influencing consumers’ purchasing decisions, she added.

“Judging from the results in the 2019 Trusted Brands Survey, longevity in the market plays an important role in securing and enjoying consumers’ trust. Brands that continue to offer genuine quality and value hold our trust,” said Waterson.

Platinum Trusted Brand Awards were given to brands that topped their category with an overwhelmingly higher score than their nearest competitors including Spritzer, Nescafe, Knife cooking oil, SK II, Canon, Samsung, Shell, DHL, Universiti Malaya and Maybank.

Gold Trusted Brand Awards were given to brands that scored significantly higher than their rivals such as Pos Laju, CIMB, Petronas, Universiti Teknologi MARA, and Amway Nutrilite, Apple, Honda, Toyota and Starbucks.
