Dr Wan Azizah expresses condolences to A. Rahman Hassan's family

KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail conveyed her condolences to the family of 1960s singer-songwriter Datuk A. Rahman Hassan, who died at midnight last night, due to lung complications.

“Deepest condolences to the family of late Datuk A. Rahman Hassan. I pray that they will stay strong in this difficult time.

“May his soul be blessed and placed among the righteous. Al-Fatihah,” said Dr Wan Azizah on her Twitter account today.

A. Rahman, 73, who was a vocalist of the group Orkes Nirvana, was hugely popular with songs such as ‘Tak Mengapa’, ‘Hanya Untukmu’ and ‘Perpaduan Hidup’'.

His remains will be buried at the Taman Keramat Muslim Cemetery here, after the Zuhur prayers today.

On Monday, A. Rahman was rushed to the Ampang Hospital after he fainted at a petrol station in Ampang.
