Join in the fun at the Waterski World Championships in Putrajaya

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- The 2019 IWWF Waterski World Championships from Aug 13-18 is coming to Putrajaya Lake and everyone is invited to join in the excitement.

An Adventure Carnival at the Putrajaya Water Sports Complex, Presint 6 from Aug 15-18 will be held to complement the competition which will see the participation of leading athletes.

There will be activities for all, live entertainment and most importantly, good nosh.

“The objective of the carnival is to encourage the public to come and support the national team and waterskiing as a whole, while at the same time taking the opportunity to indulge in food and fun,” said Malaysian Waterski and Wakeboard Federation’s (MWWF) vice president, Alex Yoong, via a statement.

The public is promised performances by Ayu Damit, Shidi Data and Fredo Flybaits, as well as a chance to meet celebs like Anne Abdullah, Zarina Zainuddin, Aidil Aziz and Zakiah Anas.

There will also be clowns, stilt walkers and magicians, besides an inflatable park, petting zoo and games with prizes worth up to RM12,000.

The world-level event will see the participation of multi SEA Games gold medallist, Aaliyah Yoong Hanifah, her brothers Aiden and Adam, as well as Nadiah Nasir completing the national team.

Members of US Elite Water Ski Team -- Adam Pickos, Freddy Kreuger and Regina Jaquess -- have confirmed their participation, while Ryan Dodd and Neilly Ross (Canada), Aliaksei Zharnasek (Belarus) and Jacinta Carroll (Australia) are coming too.

Admission is free with preliminary rounds from Aug 13-16 and the final from Aug 17-18.
