KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 10 -- Iranian import striker, Milad Zanidpour is confident that UKM FC can turn the table against Johor Darul Ta'zim II (JDT II) when both teams meet in the final second leg of the 2019 Challenge Cup football match at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium on Saturday (Oct 12).
The 33-year old player said, despite losing 0-1 to JDT II in the final first leg at the Pasir Gudang Municipal Council Stadium on Oct 4, the UKM FC players were raring to give their best before their own supporters on Saturday.
"Based on the previous meeting, I think that both teams have an equal chance to lift the Challenge Cup trophy. Our defenders displayed a good performance by thwarting various dangerous attempts by the JDT II players in our recent match.
"Therefore, what we need to do is to remain in top spirit and do our best in Saturday's match,” he was quoted as saying in a statement issued by Malaysian Football League, today.
Meanwhile, Milad, who previously played for Iran's Under 17 and Under 19 squad, regarded the quality of the Malaysian League as having improved further following the good performance by the national team (Harimau Malaya).
"Now Malaysia have good players, either in terms of techniques or tactics, and it is not impossible to see the Malaysian national team rise to the top level of Asian football in future,”he added.
