King attends Friday prayers at Sabah state mosque

KOTA KINABALU, March 8 (Bernama) -- The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, today attended Friday prayers at the State Mosque here.

Sultan Abdullah, clad in a light green Baju Melayu, arrived at the mosque at about 12.30 pm and was welcomed by Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

Thousands of worshippers attended the prayers, led by the Grand Imam of the mosque, Ibrahim Kisab.

After the prayers, Sultan Abdullah exchanged greetings with worshippers and handed over cash contributions to the poor.
