MELAKA, May 28 (Bernama) -- The ongoing Ramadan bazaar at AEON Melaka City, which runs from May 6 to June 4, is targeted to record RM350,000 in agro-based product sales.
State Agriculture, Entrepreneur Development, Agro-based Industry and Co-operative Committee chairman Norhizam Hassan Baktee said up to last Sunday (May 26), the agro bazaar, which saw the participation of 19 local entrepreneurs, had managed to rake in RM177,457.
“The bazaar was organised to promote and sell agro-based products at reasonable prices in preparation for the Hari Raya Aifilfitri celebration,” he told reporters after launching the 2019 Aidilfitri Agro Bazaar here today.
Meanwhile, Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority Melaka director Che Samudin Hassan, who was also present, said the state had sufficient supply of food and raw materials such as coconuts and vegetables for the Aidilfitri season.
He said Melaka sourced coconuts from sellers around the state as well as importing them from Indonesia.
“A total of 150,000 coconuts are needed for the Hari Raya celebration and supply has not been an issue so far,” he said.
