Thai man remanded for attempting to bribe gof personnel

KOTA BHARU, May 30 (Bernama) -- A 30-year-old man from Thailand was remanded for seven days until Wednesday, after attempting to bribe a member of General Operations Force (GOF) Ninth Battalion.

The remand order was issued by Court assistant registrar Amni Mat Jahari, after an application by the Kelantan Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The suspect was arrested in a raid at Taman Chempaka, Tanah Merah at 6.15am on May 17 with another man and two Thai women aged 28 to 30, as he was in possession of a stolen motorcycle, two stolen cars, a cloned car as well as 3.4 grammes of syabu.

The suspect then offered RM1,600 to a GOF personnel with the rank of Sergeant to let him go.
