Crocodile caught in lake

Last Update: 17/06/2019

SONG, June 17 (Bernama) -- Personnel from the district fire and rescue station here today captured a 2.5 metre crocodile at a lake behind the residence of a volunteer firefighter at Kampung Gelam near here today.

Station chief Fredrick Anak Aok said the crocodile was caught with a hook.

He said the crocodile was brought to the station and would be handed over to the Sarawak Forest Department tomorrow for further action.

One resident, Zuraida Sarkawi said she did not expect the lake to contain any crocodile.

"That's very scary," she said while acknowledging that the Rajang river located merely 129 metres from the lake is infested with crocodiles.
