Last Update: 18/06/2019

BUTTERWORTH, June 18 (Bernama) -- A Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Forum, a Power Talk and a factory exposure trips are among the programmes planned by the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Penang in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of its establishment on Sept 5.

FMM Penang chairman, Datuk Dr Ooi Heng Hock, said Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) Minister Yeo Bee Yin and Top Glove Corp Bhd chairman Tan Sri Dr Lim Wee Chai would be the speakers at the CEO Forum to be held at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) from 9.15am.

“We expect over 2,000 participants to attend the forum, where the majority would be made up of USM students who would be inspired by the success stories of the speakers and eventually become successful leaders themselves in the future,” he told a press conference here today.

He said the two speakers would then join ViTrox Corporation Bhd president and CEO, Chu Jenn Weng and Inari Technology Sdn Bhd CEO KC Lau in a Power Talk programme which would be held at a leading hotel at Bukit Jambul at 6.30pm on the same day.

“The power talk will also be moderated by OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Bhd CEO Datuk Ong Eng Bin,” he said.

Prior to the start of the Power Talk programme, some 400 corporate leaders and 100 college students would take part in an exposure trip to two factories at Batu Kawan and Bayan Lepas respectively.

Ooi said the one-day celebration would conclude with an anniversary dinner to be attended by over 600 guests, including Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and FMM president Datuk Soh Thian Lai.
