UMP listed among top universities in the world

KUANTAN, June 20 (Bernama) -- Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) has been listed among the top best universities in the world in the QS World University Rankings (WUR) 2020 published by QS Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) recently.

The achievement announced by UMP in a press release here today makes it a five-star technology university, ranked among the 751- 800 world’s best.

The assessment was based on six indicators, which are academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per faculty, faculty-student ratio, proportion of international faculty and proportion of international students.

“For faculty international indicator ranking, UMP is at 360th position among the world’s best and at 501st world’s best position in reputation,” the statement said.

UMP vice-chancellor Prof Dr Wan Azhar Wan Yusoff said the achievement was proof of the university’s excellence in teaching and learning which focused on various technical and technological aspects.

“This achievement is a good indicator that the teaching and research approach in UMP has been acknowledged as producing competent graduates who meet the demands of the industry and attained international recognition,” he said.

Wan Azhar said UMP was also committed to improving its performance and best practices in world-class teaching, research and service with more creative and innovative engineering technology.
