Landslide kills four Myanmar workers

GEORGE TOWN, June 25 (Bernama) -- Four Myanmar workers were killed after they were buried in a landslide at a construction site in Jalan Tanjung Bungah near here, tonight.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department chief Saadon Mokhtar, who confirmed the incident, said a search and rescue operation had been activated by the department with the involvement of the police and Civil Defence Force after a report on the incident was received at 9.25 pm.

‘’To date, we have located the bodies under about 4.5 metres of soil and efforts to extricate them are underway,’’ he said when contacted.
