Last Update: 28/06/2019

IPOH, June 28 (Bernama) -- The police are tracing four men believed to be the main suspects in case of breaking into a columbarium (a room for storing funeral urns) and stealing donation money and items belonging to the deceased at a Chinese cemetery along Jalan Kuala Dipang-Kampar, near here.

Kampar police chief Supt Hasron Nazri Hashim said the 7.50 am incident was believed to have caused losses of about RM1,000 comprising donation funds as well as watches and other items.

Hasron said one of the caretakers, who is also a member of the Kampar Chinese Temple, had found the main door open and the padlock of the pagoda building broken

"The man then went into the building to do a check before finding that the locks of two donation boxes containing money had been broken and were left open.

"As total 15 boxes housing urns were also broken. Other missing items could not be ascertained, "he said in a statement here, today.
