KOTA KINABALU, July 3 (Bernama) -- The Sabah government will draw up a digital infrastructure development master plan that will focus on three main sectors comprising industry, tourism and education.
State Education and Innovation Minister, Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob said currently, Sabah did not have such a master plan to the extent of causing limited digital connectivity, besides not having a clear direction in digital infrastructure development.
"This master plan is vital in the effort to develop digital infrastructure in Sabah to enable the state to have better digital connectivity.
“This effort will also ensure that Sabah does not lag behind in development as well as economic growth,” he said when met by reporters at the Sabah Educators’ Jalinan Mesra Hari Raya event, here, today.
Yusof said his ministry was also drawing up a human resource development master plan to see the human resource needs in Sabah, including in its public service and industrial sectors as such a plan had never been wholly implemented in the state.
"We need to plan including the higher education level as we want to train the people of Sabah towards meeting its human resource needs,” he added.
On today’s Aidilfitri celebration which was also attended by state Education director Mistirine Radin, Yusof said it was also a platform for strengthening cooperation and understanding among the educators in Sabah towards achieving the objective of producing knowledgeable and highly-skilled human capital.
