RM3.4 mln worth of counterfeit goods seized in Penang as of June 2019

BUKIT MERTAJAM, July 11 (Bernama) -- The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) office in Penang has seized counterfeit goods worth RM3,417,135.83 during the first six months of 2019.

Its director Mohd Ridzuan Ab Ghapar said the seizures were made in 147 cases handled during the period.

"Among the highest seizures were of 4,759 ink cartridges and toners worth RM1,762,604.00 involving three cases," he told reporters before the items were disposed of at the KKPNDHEP Exhibit Storage Complex here.

The disposed of items included women's handbags, wallets and mobile phone accessories.
