KUALA KRAI, July 12 (Bernama) -- Tunas Bioherb will continue to collaborate with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to organise charity programmes for those in need.
Its manager, Isham Ismail, said the collaboration was part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes to help the less fortunate, especially asnaf (tithe recipients) in rural areas.
“It is our way of distributing zakat (tithe) directly to those involved,” he told Bernama after the Perdana Gotong Royong programme at Al-Majid Mukim Manek Urai Mosque here today.
Thirty high-powered motor club members from the Haru-Hala Bikers Club (HHBC) were involved in cleaning the mosque while presenting daily necessities to 50 asnaf from the village.
Meanwhile, Al-Majid Mukim Manek mosque Imam Ahmad Sabli Ibrahim said he welcomed more NGOs and private corporations to carry out such programmes as it would benefit the mosque congregation.
“The contribution may seem small to the rich, but it is huge to the asnaf,” he added.
