15 mosques to hold special lunar eclipse prayer

KANGAR, July 16 (Bernama) – Fifteen mosques in 15 Perlis state constituencies will hold a special prayer at 4am tomorrow (July 17) in conjunction with the partial lunar eclipse.

According to a statement from the Perlis Islamic Department (JAIPs), the prayer venues are as follows: Masjid Al-Azim in Titi Tinggi; Masjid Al-Ehsan in Kampung Darat, Beseri; Masjid Al-Husna in Batu Bertangkup, Chuping; Masjid Ibnu Sina in Kampung Perawah, Tok Kayaman, Mata Ayer; and Masjid Al-Ghofur in Padang Lati, Santan.

There will also be a special prayer in Masjid Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, Sena; Masjid Alwi in Indera Kayangan; Masjid Nurul Iman in Nesam Kurung Batang, Bintong; Masjid Al-Hussain in Kuala Perlis; and Masjid Jamek in Binjal, Utan Aji Kayang, Kayang.

Masjid Negeri Arau in Pauh; Masjid Al-Furqan in Kampung Sentua, Tambun Tulang; Masjid Al-Barakahin in Jelempok, Guar Sanji; Masjid Al-Ilmi in Sungai Beremban, Simpang Empat; and Masjid Datuk Jaafar Hassan in Sungai Padang, Sanglang will also hold the special prayer.

The statement added that Muslims are encouraged to join the special prayer and stay for a sermon which will be delivered by a guest khatib.
