Arwenraj proves Non-Muslim student can excel in Islamic course

ARAU, July 23 (Bernama) -- Although not a Muslim, Arwenraj Muniandy has proved that he could not only pursue a diploma regarding Islam but also excel in it.

"The Food Services (Halal Practice) course was my third choice. At the beginning, I did not get the blessing from my mother. But I have proven myself by getting the Head of Department Award for six consecutive semesters," said the diploma holder from Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Polytechnic (PTSS).

The eldest of three siblings is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Food Services at Universiti Putra Malaysia in Serdang, Selangor

Arwenraj, 22, was speaking to Bernama after receiving the Special Academic Award and Special PTSS Award from the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail at the 13th PTSS convocation here today.

A total of 1,168 graduates received their diplomas at the convocation.
