KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 (Bernama) -- The Economic Action Council (EAC) today discussed several proposals that could be implemented immediately to revitalize business activities, boost domestic investment and increase household spending, said the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MEA).
The MEA, which is the secretariat for the EAC, said the five-member council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad held the discussion in line with the government's efforts to stimulate economic growth and maintain its momentum in the volatile global economic environment.
"Issues such as housing loans, the level of household debt and financing for small and medium enterprises were also deliberated," the MEA said in a statement.
It said the EAC meeting also discussed a proposal to improve the National Education Policy.
"The proposal involves a review of education policies from preschool to university. This proposal will take into account the views and inputs of all stakeholders and people from all walks of life," the MEA said
