Immediate aid for woman and two kids sleeping at hospital

KUANTAN, Aug 7 (Bernama) -- A woman who had to allow her two young daughters sleep on the floor of the Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah (HoSHAS) lobby in Temerloh near here, as she was looking after her ailing husband had drawn attention of the authorities.
State Exco for Culture, Solidarity, Social Welfare, Women and Family Development Datuk Seri Shahaniza Shamsuddin said the case of Sarina Endut’s family had been brought to the attention of the State Welfare Department.
She said the Social Welfare Department had approved a one-off immediate aid of RM300 which was paid last Monday, besides approving a Child Aid to be paid beginning September.
"In addition, for the comfort and safety of the two young children, the HoSHAS Welfare Department had provided a room free of charge at the hospital’s Anjung Kasih for their accommodation,” she said here today.
Shahaniza added that based on the record of the Welfare Department, Sarina, 40, and her husband Jamaluddin Uyub, 59, had never submitted any application for assistance before this.
Meanwhile Pahang Health Director Datuk Dr Sha'ari Ngadiman said the health department also provided cash aid to Sarina as soon as her case was viralled in the social website.
