Clean up efforts to clear uprooted trees in Kedah 99 pct completed - CDF

ALOR SETAR, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- The clean-up efforts to clear uprooted trees in Friday’s storm disaster in the state is 99 per cent completed, Kedah Natural Disaster Management Secretariat coordinator Captain (Civil Defence Force) Saifuddin Abdullah said.

He said the cleaning up was carried out by 139 CDF personnel in  the 12 affected districts and that Kuala Muda district recorded the highest number of uprooted trees with 19 cases.

“A total of 66 reports of uprooted trees were received by the CDF from 8.45 pm to 11.30pm last Friday. To date, 99 per cent of the cases has been fully resolved. The remaining one per cent is expected to be resolved by Thursday,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

In addition to uprooted trees, the storm also damaged 1,536 houses in the state.
