SHAH ALAM, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- The Putra Mosque in Putrajaya, chosen as the main venue for the Malaysia #QuranHour 1440H / 2019 programme on Aug 30, will have verses from Surah Al-Kahf (Chapter of The Cave) read aloud beginning 11 am.
Ummah Ikhlas Heritage Foundation (WUI) chief executive officer Marhaini Yusoff said that as the programme was being held in conjunction with the 62nd National Day celebrations, the first 10 and final 10 verses were selected to be recited as they included guidance on facing challenging times.
"The Malaysia #QuranHour programme this time is special because the surah will be recited by qaris who have won international competitions," she said during a Malaysian Media Synergy briefing in conjunction with the programme here today.
Also present were WUI founder Datuk Dr Hussamuddin Yaacub, Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) chairman Datuk Seri Azman Ujang and Utusan Malaysia editor Datuk Zulkefli Hamzah.
At the event, Hussamuddin, who is also the chairman of the Karangkraf Media Group, also presented a contribution to Utusan Malaysia.
Malaysia #QuranHour will be held from 11 am to 12 pm on Aug 30, before Friday prayers, and Malaysians here and abroad will also be having interactive sessions at the same time from their respective locations.
Apart from Bernama, Utusan Malaysia and the Karangkraf Media Group, among other media outlets who have synergised to make the programme a success are Kosmo!, Radio and Television Malaysia (RTM), Astro, Prima Media Group and AlHijrah TV.
