3,200 Orang Asli families receive Aidiladha meat in Gua Musang

GUA MUSANG, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- A total of 60 cows were sacrificed in an Aidiladha celebration programme with the Orang Asli community, with the sacrificial meat distributed to 3,200 families from 114 Orang Asli villages today.
Kelantan Islamic Affairs and Malay Customs Council (MAIK) deputy president Zulkifle Ab Rahman said of the total 60 sacrificial cows, 35 were donated by the congregation of the Masjid Abu Bakar Al-Khattab Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, 12 cows were from MAIK and three cows were from the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA).
He also added that Masjid Abu Bakar Al-Sidiq, Bangsar contributed eight cows while the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and an individual contributed one cow each respectively.
“A total of 20 cows were slaughtered on the first day of Aidiladha celebration last Sunday in Pos Hendrop, while the rest were slaughtered during today’s programme.
“The programme received great response from the Orang Asli community, some even came all the way from Kampung Sungai Rual in Jeli,” he told reporters after the ceremony in Kampung Kuala Betis here today.
