First group of haj pilgrims arrive in Kelantan

KOTA BHARU,  Aug 19 (Bernama) — The first group of 148 haj pilgrims from Kelantan arrived at the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP) at about 8.25 p.m. tonight.

Kelantan Tabung Haji deputy director Ashrof Shamsuddin said the pilgrims were mostly safe and healthy.

“This is the first flight home for the pilgrims, we still have 12 more flights and the last will be on August 29,” he told reporters when met at the airport here tonight.

“We hope the travel process for all the flights will go smoothly,”  Ashrof, who is also the operations director for haj pilgrims in Kota Bharu, said.

Meanwhile, pilgrim Salamah Jusoh,70 from Kampung Gong Jerat said she was thankful that even at her age, she was able to complete the pilgrimage.

“Alhamdulillah, all went well, even though I am old, my age did not break my spirit during the time I was there,” she said.
