Social Welfare Dept looking for parents, next of kin of baby found at Jalan Dusun Muda

KOTA BHARU, Aug 21 -- The Child Protection Division of the Kota Bharu Social Welfare  Office here is looking for the family of a baby girl who was found without any documents at Jalan Dusun Muda here last July 22.

Kota Bharu Social Welfare officer Nazri Hussin said the baby was found by a resident there who then alerted the authorities following which  the baby was sent to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital  here.

“The baby, who is in good health, is now at a Social Welfare Department’s institution in Kelantan. She is about a month-old and has been named Aisyah Khadeeja Abdul Muhaimin.

“We hope the parents or next of kin of the baby will come forward or call 09-7422036 to facilitate her documentation process, including for adoption,” he said in a statement here today.

The baby was found by a 32-year-old man in an undergrowth in front of his house at about 7 pm last July 22 while he was looking for his pet cat.
