Sabah footballers, Unduk Ngadau beauties to join state-level National Day parade

KOTA KINABALU, Aug 23 -- The state-level National Day parade here on Aug 31 is expected to be enlivened with the participation of the Sabah football players carrying the Premier League trophy and the 2019 Unduk Ngadau beauty contestants.
State-level National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang Celebration Committee deputy chairman Datuk Muis Picho said the parade will witness participation of 142 teams including government agencies, security forces, schools, both public and private institutions of higher learning and non-governmental organisations.
He said the event will be attended by Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin and Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.
The parade will take place at Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens here with the highlight of the parade include the the march of the Jalur Gemilang by the Malaysian Army personnel and the Sabah state flag by the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), he told a press conference during a dinner with the media in conjunction with the state-level National Day celebration here last night.
He said other highlight would be the fly-past by the Royal Malaysia Police, the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department and the Royal Malaysian Air Force aircraft.
The parade will commence from the Sutera Harbor Resort for vehicles while for the pedestrian they will start at the Imago shopping centre where they will be marching along the three kilometres stretch.
