Monitoring on national waters among the essence presented during visit of chief secretary

JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 25 (Bernama) -- Emphasis on the operations and monitoring of the sovereignty of the national waters were among the essence of discussion during the visit of the Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Bakar to the Abu Bakar Maritime Base (ABMB) near Kota Tinggi, here today.
Johor Maritime Director Maritime First Admiral Aminuddin Abdul Rashid said that in addition, briefings on the maintenance and improvements of existing equipment and governance on the welfare of personnel on duty at the ABMB were also given emphasis.
"Throughout the visit, Ismail had been given the latest briefings on the operations of the ABMB, and requirements for upgrading.
“The delegation was also taken to observe the control tower and the facilities available at the ABMB, the Middle Rocks and the visit session was concluded after a photography session,”he said in a statement here today.
Also present were the Director-General of the National Security Council Engku Hamzah Tuan Mat, Deputy Director-General (Operations) of MMEA Maritime Vice-Admiral Ibrahim Mohamed and Director-General of Public Works Department (JKR) Datuk Ir. Dr. Meor Abdul Aziz Osman.
