20 base jumpers took part in Alor Setar Tower International Jump today

Last Update: 11/09/2019

ALOR SETAR, Sept 11 -- A total of 20 local and international base jumpers took part in the 2019 Alor Setar Tower International Jump (MASIJ) held for three days at the Alor Setar Tower starting today.

Menara Kuala Lumpur Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Rozlan Mohamed said the event is divided into day jump from 8.30am to 6 pm and night jump from 8 to 10 pm.

“This international sporting event provides an opportunity for local and international base jumpers to take the leap off the highest platform of the Alor Setar Tower from a height of 105 meters above sea level and land at the nearby Jubilee Park.

“It would also provide an opportunity for the local community to get a closer look at the base jump activity as well as cultivating an interest in such activities,” he said in a statement here today.

Rozlan said such an event would also put Malaysia on the international tourism map as a destination for extreme sports tourism activities and could further promote the Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign to local and foreign tourists.
