KUALA TERENGGANU, Sept 15 -- The 2019 Terengganu Beach Carnival has recorded the attendance of more than 50,000 people up to the third day of its organisation.
State Exco for Tourism, Culture and Information Technology, Ariffin Deraman said the state government was confident that the target of a total of 100,000 visitors attending the carnival would be met as there were still many events to be held until the conclusion of the carnival tomorrow night such as Kayuhan Malaysia Sejahtera and Terengganu Bertanjak.
"Alhamdulillah (thank God), Kuala Terengganu is flooded with many tourists from outside since Friday in conjunction with the public holiday (Malaysia Day) tomorrow...many gave feedback on exceptional traffic congestion besides the bookings for hotel rooms, resorts, chalets and rural housing units being fully taken throughout the holiday period.
"The visitors were very excited with the various tourism events held at Batu Buruk this time, and in fact from my visits to the booths run by the entrepreneurs I received feedback of good sales and they had regained their capital on the first day itself,” he told reporters after giving away prizes for the antic keris competition here today.
Ariffin said the haze problem did not prevent members of the public to come to the carnival because they were more excited to see for themselves the various uniqueness of the culture, heritage and arts as well as the traditional food found at the carnival.
