Tawau Marine Police seize petrol bound for southern Philippines

TAWAU,  Sept  17 --The Sabah Marine Police (PPM) seized 2,610 litres of petrol near a bridge at a water village in  Batu 4 here yesterday.

Sabah Region 4 PPM Commander ACP Mohamad Pajeri Ali, in a statement today, said the seizure was made at about 5.30 pm from two unregistered pump boats  during a patrol in the area.

He said the petrol, in 85 containers and valued at RM6,579, was believed to be smuggled to the southern Philippines.

The two boats and six engines, worth RM23,000,  were also seized, he added.
