Last Update: 17/09/2019

MELAKA, Sept 17 – Love a challenge? Then sign up for Melaka’s first ever Shore Sky Tower Towerthon Challenge 2019 on Nov 3 which is expected to attract 1,500 people to join.

At the event’s logo launch today, state communications, multimedia, non-governmental organisation, youth and sports development committee chairman, Kerk Chee Yee, said participants will have to run 3km and climb 43 storeys -- 854 steps – to reach the top of Melaka’s tallest building.

“The climb is where the excitement and challenge lie because you will be rewarded with an amazing panoramic view of Melaka’s capital at the top.

“Congratulations to the organising committee, Kerjaya Hotel Sdn Bhd, Melaka Athletics Association and Melaka Sports Council for having this event which will attract more tourists to the state,” said Kerk.

He announced that the prize for the winner in the male and female open is RM1,000, a trophy and free hotel stay, while for the male and female veteran category it is the same except for the prize money which is RM800.

Registration ends Oct 31 and can be done through the Swiss-Garden Hotel Melaka website: www.swissgarden.com/hotel-melaka/, with the fee for the male and female open at RM70, veteran category at RM60 and fun run at RM30.
