Policeman killed in car-lorry collision in Alor Setar

ALOR SETAR, Sept 25 -- A policeman was killed while three others including two children were injured when the car they were travelling in skidded into the river after colliding with a lorry in Jalan Kampung Teluk Binasa, Gunung Keriang here this evening.

Kedah Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director, Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said the victim, Khairul Izat Romli, 34, who pinned in the driver seat died at the scene.

“Two children and a woman were injured on the heads and legs after the car they were travelling in collided with a  lorry and skidded into a river,” he said in a statement today.

He said the victim’s body has been handed over to police for further action while the injured victims were taken to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) for treatment.
