10,000 visitors expected at 2019 Terengganu KIICT

KUALA TERENGGANU, Oct 2 -- About 10,000 visitors are expected at the three-day 2019 Terengganu Information Technology Innovation (KIICT) to begin this Sunday.
State Tourism, Culture and Information Technology Committee chairman Ariffin Deraman said the carnival was aimed at exposing and creating awareness among the public on development in information and communication technology (ICT).
He said there would be free workshops organised by various agencies, including the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), Malaysian Digital Economic Corporation (MDEC), Pembangunan Industri Kewangan Malaysia Berhad (MIDF) and the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (MAMPU) .
“Registration is now opened and we hope to get as many people to attend the workshops to improve their skills,” he told a media conference here today.
The carnival is organised by the state government through the State Information Technology Development Division in collaboration with the Terengganu Science and Creative Center and the Terengganu Digital Hub (TD1303).
It involves the participation of 22 exhibitors from various government departments and agencies, the private sector and schools in Terengganu.
Ariffin said various activities would also be available for visitors including the PUBG and Mobile Legend competitions, Beyblade for children, robotics demonstrations, 3D printing and activities that would give great audiovisual effects.
