Last Update: 05/10/2019

KUALA NERUS, Oct 5 --  Adam Hussaini Mohd Rosli’s vision is impaired, but not his heart, and within three and a half years, he is able to memorise all 30 chapters of the Quran and is now known as a “Huffaz”.

The youngest of four siblings, Adam Hussaini, 17, is among the 1,076 Huffaz, who received the “hafazan” (memorisation) at the seventh convocation of the “Himpunan Huffaz Permata al-Quran Malaysia”, held at the Gong Badak Indoor Stadium here today.

A student at Maahad Tahfiz dan Pengajian Islam Darul Hijrah in Baling, Kedah, Adam Hussaini  attributed his success to hard work and being consistent.

“I read the braille Quran everyday, from 5 am to 9 pm, and my reading of the Quran is scrutinised by a teacher every day, to ensure my reading is smooth and according to the rules governing pronunciation during recitation of the Quran,” he added.

Thanking his parents for their support and encouragement, Adam Hussaini said he hoped to return to the madrasah again one day as a teacher.

The convocation was organised by Persatuan Madrasah Tahfiz Malaysia (Permata) and officiated by its Syariah, Education and Higher Studies Committee chairman Satiful Bahri Mamat.
